Livestream Upgrade Phase 1: May-September 2023

In the spring of 2023 we faced an enormous change to our livestream when we started exclusively streaming in Incarnation’s Sanctuary. This allowed the Media Arts Team to make dramatic improvements to the livestream equipment, consolidate equipment from both spaces, and create a new and improved semi-permanent livestream set up. This change also impacted the ability to troubleshoot and monitor the stream more reliably. Before, the Sound and Livestream teams were literally running between services from one stream to the next without adequate time to check the equipment and software. Now, we stay in one location and can fine tune adjustments from one service to the next and know exactly what we’re walking into during our second service. When we consolidated our equipment from both space and decided on the Sanctuary as our semi-permanent streaming location, we finally had the opportunity to permanently install cameras and upgrade our equipment since we no longer needed to purchase duplicates for both spaces.

New Livestream Equipment and Practices

After two years of running back and forth between the Sanctuary and Incarnation Hall, it almost feels too easy to turn this new set up on with just one click! We've added additional cameras, improved the layout, and having one streaming location to worry about instead of two gives us way more time to troubleshoot if something comes up before/during a service.
